100 dimensions !!??!!?
WOW. I'd be surprised if you got any aggregates designed with the Design
Storage wizard.
My recommendation would be to design with 0 aggregates and then use
Usage-based optimization.
This is talked about in the AS Performance Guide posted at:

Hi,
I am designing cubes which have a lot of dimensions (50 to 100). Most of
these dimensions are small and without hierarchie (Male/Female, Yes/No,

1/2/3, etc.).

When I use the aggregation wizard it creates lots of aggregations with
hardly any performance gain.
I wonder if it is useful to create aggregations at all with this kind of
cubes because it takes a lot of space and time and hardly no results.
Is there anybody who has experience with this or has suggestions about the
aggregation design?
Thanks,
Edwin. |
