Default Administrate Analysis Services in a non-windows environment - 10-18-2006 , 03:39 PM

Hi everyone!

I need to connect a client computer with Analysis Manager to a server with
Analysis Server. Both client and server runs Windows operating systems, but
the network environment is not Windows, and client and server are not in a
windows domain.

I don't know if there is any way to connect client and server.

Thank you in advance,
Javi

Use Remote Desktop to do your administration.

Another in a long line of reasons why "Windows Authentication only" was a
bad choice for Analysis Services.

I agree with Zoltan, having a database user/password would make the whole
thing a lot easier, particularly administration and internet applications.

There is a way around the Analysis Manager in certain circumstances.
If you've got a local admin user on both boxes with an identical username
and password and both boxes are running same versions you can use most tools
to connect.

Remote desktop may be simpler.
