Default Adding data to cube from new source - 07-21-2003 , 01:54 AM

Instead of changing the data source, you can move the
tables form teh new server to the original server and re
process the cubes.

You can take a back up of the relational database, before
you push the new data.

Will that solve your problem.

Thanks

We have a MOLAP cube with a lot of data that would take a
very long time to
reload. Each month, we load additional data into the
cube. However, we
need to change data sources . . . the tables are the
same, but will come
from another server. We need to do this without having
to reload the
previous month's data. Any ideas?

Thanks for the suggestions! The problem is, though, that apparently MSAS
names the dimension tables with a name that includes the source DB,
including server name. If I move the source to another server, it does not
want to treat the new data and the existing data as one cube.

Thanks,

Sid
