Default about clustering algorithm used by microsoft - 10-10-2004 , 07:02 PM

hi everyone,
can anyone help me please
i had a question regarding Expectation-Maximization
algorithm used by microsoft for data mining in ole db.
Does anyone know how good this algorithm is when compared
to the latest clustering algorithms like chameleon, cure,
rock. Does EM create clusters of hybrid shapes or else
just it forms only circular shaped clusters. If there is
any document that compares this algorithm then it would
be helpful for me a lot. i need this information
desperately. Can anyone of u please reply me about ur
knowledge about this.hope someone will reply me soon.my
email id is mailkonda (AT) yahoo (DOT) com
thanks in advance,
praveen

You can check the MS Clusterin algorithm in details at
http://research.microsoft.com/resear...ication&id=267.
For the comparisons - I don't know fr a direct comparisons; here is a link
to an article which compares groups of methods:
https://wwws.cs.umn.edu/tech_reports...002/02-014.pdf.
