Default AS 2k5 Error Browsing a Cube - 02-09-2006 , 02:47 PM

I was dragging and dropping Measures from the Metadata pane to the Data pane
when this broke with the following message in teh Data pane:

The query could not be processed:
o Errors in the OLE DB provider. Could not connect to the redirector. Ensure
that the SQLBrowser service is running on the 'a-genehdt2' server.
o Errors in the OLE DB provider. An error occurred while named instance
information was being retrieved from the SQLBrowser service on the
'a-genehdt2' server.

I found SQLBrowser to be running so I tried to restart it but it would not
restart.

I closed all programs and restarted my machine.

When I tried to browse the cube I found the same error message as above in
the Data pane.

I tried to drag and drop a measure from the Metadata pane and received the
following error:

Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.
(Microsoft Visual Studio)

Is there anyway of cleaning this up without dropping and re-creating the

Hello,

This issue seems to be caused by OLEDB provider. I suggest that you
register msolap90.dll to test the situation. If the issue persists, please
reinstall ODEDB for AS 9.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...d60-a13c-4479-
9b91-9e8b9d835cdc&DisplayLang=en

You may want to check if the project works properly with BI dev studio
installed to isolate the problem. Does the issue only occur with this cube?
