Default As 2K on 64 bit machine - 03-07-2006 , 05:25 PM

Hi,
I would like to be able to run an instance of 32-bit Analysis Services
2000 on a 4 64-bit 2.6 GHZ AMD with 32 GB of RAM processor server in
parallel with 64-bit SSAS 2005. My understanding is I can do this as
long as the default instance is 2000. Could anyone provide any
guidence, any performance concerns?
Thanks,
Koni.

the "only" performance issue will be memory issue.
if you really need a lot of memory to run correctly your cube, then having 2
instance with high memory usage for each instance will cause some memory
swap.

in my case I don't see any specific issues when the 2 instances runs in
parrallel.
but the memory usage of each instance is less then available memory.
