Default AS 2005: ....a string was found that was larger than the page size - 09-29-2005 , 03:01 PM

Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services Designer
Version 9.00.1314.00

When doing the Analysis Services Tutorial, after deploying the cube, I
droped a measure (sales Amount) into the cube browser and got:
"The query could not be processed:
Memory Error: While attempting to store a string, a string was found that
was larger than the page size selected. The operation cannot be completed."

It's running on a P4 dev box with one GB of RAM and no other load. The
browser works fine for other cubes i'm working on.

Any ideas.

This is known problem with CTP16's msolap90.dll. You can request CTP16
hotfix for it, or wait for Yukon's RTM.

Are you running the September CTP?

I seem to remember a posting in the Beta newsgroups that said that an
issue like this had been fixed in the September release.

I have the same problem with the Sept CTP. Please direct me to the right
place for solution. When I click on the URL below I get defaulted to
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/default.mspx
then where do I go?

I sync'ed with PSS about this issue, and the current state is that only TAP
customers can get this hotfix at this time.
Sorry.

I have the same problems on cubes I am building with the September CTP. Is
this a bug or an issue in cube setup? Any way of getting some feedback from
the product team on this one?

Please read this thread - there is plenty of feedback from the product team.
It is a bug in CTP16 that is fixed in RTM. If you are TAP customer - you can
get CTP16 hotfix for it.
