Default AS 2005 browse cube problem - 05-10-2006 , 05:35 AM

I have successfully deployed an Analysis Services Project on Analysis
Server 2005 with SP1.

However, when I try to browse the cube using either BI studio or SQL
Server management studio, everything stucks. Dimensions browsing and
cube processing works fine!

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Makis

hi,

What is the error that you get or what is the part that stucks. Can you
kindly elaborate? What happens and what had you expected the results to be?

Hi,
thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I do not get any error message.
There is no response even if I wait for hours.

The problematic part is cube browsing. I mean to select dimensions and
measures and to see the appropriate results.

I also tried to execute MDX queries and everyting was fine. It seems
that there is no problem with cube data but something goes wrong with
the visualization part. It reminds me a similar problem in AS 2000.

My guess is that it's your firewall. I have had the same problem with
ZoneAlarm. If I turn it off, then everything works. I am still looking to
find the proper settings (which ports, addresses, etc. need to be opened).

Anyone know anything about ZoneAlarm's interaction with AS2005?

Thanks mhaack, I solved the problem by shutting down the firewall (I
use ZoneAlarm too)!

I suppose that you have already tried to open ports 1433-1437, right?
