Greetings,

I have an application server connecting to a SQL server via an ODBC
connection to run reports. The application log indicates that the ODBC
authentication (SQL authentication) seems to be taking 30 seconds each time
before commencing with the processing.

Any ideas on a cause?

Details:
Application Server: Server 2003 SP2 x86 fully patched, SQL native client v
10.0.2531.0

SQL Server: Server 2008 x64 SP 1 fully patched; SQL 2008 x64.

Both servers are on the same physical subnet and domain and DNS is operating
correctly with the correct PTR records.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!!
