Default Yukon DTS - 11-07-2003 , 09:51 AM

I know DTS has been redesigned for Yukon. Will our existing SQL Server 2000 DTS Packages work in Yukon or will they need to be rewritten?

The 2000 runtime will be built in side by side with Yukon so yes they will
work.

Just to add to what Allan is saying:
There will be several ways you can migrate packages. You can run them as
they are which what Ryan and Allan are referring to.
You can run them inside Yukon packages with a special new stock task called
the ExecuteDTS2000 Package task.
Or, you can attempt to update your package with a wizard called the
migration wizard. It's a best efforts upgrade that will have a high success
rate with DTSWiz generated packages, but will only partially migrate
packages that have been modified to use script or dynamic properties tasks.
