Default why are " (1).dtsx" files created while working with SSIS projects? - 12-14-2006 , 10:22 AM

In SQL 2005 when I work with DTSX packages what constitutes the
creation of files of the format, "<original package name> (1).dtsx".
There seems to be some not so obvious disconnects with this tool -
suggestions & knowledge welcome.

I originally thought that it occurred because the file name already
existed in the project as it does happen at this time but sometimes I
found it to occur when the file had not already existed.

Thanks for contributing.
