I am in a similar boat that you are in. Books Online is clearly not
intended as a teaching tool but as a reference. It simply does not present
the material the way a beginner needs to see it, and the examples, which are
few, are often not well thought-out. Having said that, I refer to Books
Online several times a day . . .
I would purchase any of the most recent books on the subject and read them
from cover-to-cover while coding as much as time allows. I know of no other
way in the real-world. Go to Amazon!
