Default Variable defaults to zero in script task (SSIS) - 10-02-2008 , 05:32 PM

Hi all,

I have a script task in my SSIS package where i use a user variable
that is read from the configuration file.
It works fine.
But if i had a new variable (of the type string) for some reason it
defaults to zero.

This is what i did.

Add New Variable (no default value, package scope, string type)
In package Configuration option i configured the value of the that
variable to be read from the file.
I added the Variable in the list of variables for my script task.

I also made sure that the configuration file did contain the
variable. Also if the configuration file doesnt contain the variable
then i get zero as default.

What am i missing...

TIA

How exactly are you using the variable in the script task? How are you
referring to it?

When you say that you made sure the config file had the variable in it, does
that mean you went back through the Configurations dialog box and added the
Variable's value to the list of items to be stored in the config file?
