Default Update Remote dts package - 08-21-2003 , 09:46 AM

Hello,

I have a dts package that I created in Enterprise Mgr and saved on the main
server (SS2K_Office). The package exports a database from SS2K_Office to
our web hosting company (SS2K_WebHost). When I am at the office, I can
update the package because I am on the office network and can go out to the
internet.

When I call in remotely to SS2K_Office, I use VPN and log in as SA. If you
come in through VPN, you don't have access to the internet through the
Office network. Because of this, I am unable to update the package because
it can't connect to SS2K_WebHost.

Is there a way to update the package remotely?

Thanks in advance,

Steven

You can change some things through Disconnected edit, although it may
still error that it cannot connect to SS2K_WebHost.

Or

Why not just use a remote access tool such a Terminal Services (Remote
Admin mode), NetOp, PcAnywhere or VNC amongst others.

Or

Fool your remote machine into thinking it can connect to SS2K_WebHost.
Create an alias through the client network utility called SS2K_WebHost,
but set the address as you machine. You will probably also need
databases and tables of the same name on your local machine, but this
will depend on what task your are playing with.
