"Unspecified error" opening saved DTS Package. -

I start out with sql 2000 package saved on the server that can be opened on a
client pc and on the server using the enterprise manager.
If I save the package while on the server I can still open the package in
both the server and the client. However after I save the package using the
client pc I cannot open it on the server but still can open it on the client
pc. When I cannot open the package on the server I get an error message of
"Unspecified Error".
If I right click the package on the server and choose versions I am able to
open the previous version without problem on the server, only the new version
saved by the client won't open.
How do I allow client saved packages to be opened by the server, or how do I
get a more meaningful error message besides "Unspecified Error" so I have a
better idea what is causing the problem?
Trying to solve this on my own has lead to the following dead ends...the
problem has something to do with localization, but the server already has
service pack 4 installed (how to check localization?). The only other thing
I can think of is that the client PC has both SQL 2005 and SQL 2000 clients
on it where the server only has SQL 2000 server installed. |
