Default Trying to import data from Access, being stung by "missing workgroup information file"! - 09-08-2006 , 10:16 AM

I'm using Management Studio's Tasks->Import data tool to try to import data
from a MS Access database .mdb file. But, I keep getting the "the workgroup
information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user" error
message. No, this file isn't open anywhere else. Yes, I have system.mdw in
its normal place (documents and settings/me/application
data/microsoft/access), in windows/system32 and in the directory right next
to the .mdw file I'm trying to open.

Any clues?

The workgroup file location doesn't necessarily have a
"normal" place - you need to check the registry and make
sure the registry entry points to the correct location.
The following article is for linked servers but it has the
gist of the information and settings:

All those registry settings were already set. I still can't get it to work.
