Default Transform Data Task Performance - 05-07-2005 , 07:36 AM

Hi,

I am using the Transform data task to transform data from the database table
to the flat file using Lookup queries.

The database table resides in Oracle 9i and I am using Microsoft OLE DB
provider for Oracle in the connection object.

My Table contains approx 3 million records.

I have executed the task on SQL Server 2000 with no service pack installed
and it took 15 minutes to transform the data.

But with SQL Server 2000, SP3 and security patch for SP3, the task is taking
to much time. It is taking approx. 5hrs

The Operating System is Windows 2000 server in both the cases.

Does anybody have any idea about this problem?

Thanks

Interesting.

MDAC version change?

Is this consistently longer i.e. not conditions specific?

Which service pack. You should be using MDAC 2.8 at minimum.

Here is the latest MDAC component checker. It reports on the version and
installation status of all versions of MDAC.
