Default Transferring DTS packages to a different server not in the network - 11-03-2004 , 11:21 AM

Hi all,

We need to deploy a DTS package to a remote server. We have a scheduled job
that execute the DTS package. What's the best way for doing this? We are
using Win2K, SQL Server 2000, sp3.

Thanks, Anna

DTS Backup 2000, an excelent freeware utility, will do this for you. Follow

I used it a lot to transfer my DTS packages from a DEV to a PROD servers.

Click on package--> Save As --> put the server name or ip where do you want
to save it on.

Or

You can save the DTS as a Structured storage file (file.dts), then copy the
file to the other server outside your network, then right click on Data
Transformation Services (on remote server) and select Open Package.
