Default Transfer DTS Package Help - 01-28-2004 , 08:33 PM

I am developing on a test system and I want to transfer several of my files
to another test system (at home).

Can you transfer a DTS Package from one server to another?

Export does not have a utility to select a Package.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. I would hate to have to
re-write my packages.

Thanks

You have a number of options

1. Backup MSDB
2. Export msdb..sysdtspackages
3. Save as a Structured storage file
4. Save as VB

Darren,

The link you provided below doesn't work. Looks like an intranet link. Can
you please repost the corrected one?

Thanks,

In the package editor perform a "Save AS" and choose
Structured Storage File. This will allow you to move the
package around like a file. Once you are ready to re-open,
right click on the DTS tree level and choose to open a
package. Once there save as a SQL Server Loacation.
