Default transfer data to oracle by using Microsoft ODBC drive for oracle - 01-03-2006 , 05:01 PM

Hi,

One dts would transfer data from SQL to oracle by using Microsoft ODBC drive
for oracle. After start the job, the oracle won't see any record transferred
20 minutes later. Why connection take so long before dts starting transfer
data to oracle? Is there any setting I can change to increase the connection
speed?

Hello Lynn,

Are you sure that no data has moved or is it that you cannot see it yet because
it is in a state of flux? If it is not committed then maybe you won't see
it? In any event the driver between Oracle using DTS is notoriouly slow
and people have resorted to flat files, FTP and SQL*Loader

Thank you for your reply.

No commited is what I think the first. But, after soon as I saw the data,
the record change everytime I run the the query within short period of time.
So, I think it's not the commited issue.

We would move to flat file soon due to this issue. But, I would like to
know the exact issue for this delay. Tks
