Temporary table (#table)

Temporary table (#table) data remains through a series of DTS sql
steps. I am even able to dump the data to excel. But just after that
temporary table is lost. Why does it happen?
Does the sql connection gets lost once i hit a task having excel
connection?

Please help.

Did you have Close Connection on Completion checked off?
