Default SSIS Newbie Question: How to execute package in Management Studio - 06-15-2005 , 02:41 PM

Hi,

I can't seem to execute a saved SSIS package in either the Management Studio
or the Business Intelligence Development Studio. I am running SQL Server
2005 CTP.

The package is a simple table import which I had saved to a file. (Attempts
to save it to SQL Server, resulted in SSL errors.) Now, I can open the .dtsx
file in either of these two IDEs but neither seem to give me the option to
execute. I can see an Execute button on one of the toolbars in Management
Studio, but it is disabled.

Thanks,
krog

How did you open the package in BIDS?

Did you create a new projects (SSIS), right click on the SSIS Package folder
in Solution Explorer and choose "Add Existing Package"?

Or

Did you open BIDS and do a File | Open | File

The latter option will cause the "Play" button to be disabled/greyed out
