I am trying to run 30 SSIS packages that from an ETL process. Each package on its own works and I am now calling the packages through a manager package. After a few packages have run, SSIS just seems to freeze. There are no blocking processes, no locks no errors anywhere. SSIS just seems to hang and nothing else happens to the currently running child package. Any ideas anyone? Thanks |

Are these deployed packages or are the symptoms you describe occurring during testing in BIDS? Does the hang occur at the same package consistently? Or does it vary? Hi Andrew, The hang doesnt occur at the same package. It is often on the second package, but sometimes on the 10th / 12th. When running the packages in BIDS no errors occur. We have run the packages through as a SQL job when sourcing data from another server, but when sourcing data from the same sever this error occurs. When the hang occurs, we dont see any locks, blocks or other signs of error. Hello working_developer, So are you saying that when you run the "Controller" package interactively there is no issue and also when you run the same package as a job but it does not source from the same server as the one on which it is located. The issue comes when you run and source on the same server. Because the package on which it stalls is random then I doubt you have anything worng in the package rather something sounds as though it gets stuck. Resources? Does this happen all the time? Can you ties it down to time of day? Allan Mitchell www.SQLDTS.com www.SQLIS.com www.Konesans.com Hi Andrew, The hang doesnt occur at the same package.
