Default SSIS DTS Template? - 09-26-2006 , 11:21 AM

Converting mind and server to SQLServer 2005. Bought a book to help in the
transition. I need a new DTS project. I open SS Business Inteliigence Dev,
File, New Project, Intergration Services Project. My book example shows a
Data Transformation template. In real life, my server shows no templates. I
open the Search window and look in Local and MSDN Online and can't seem to
find a template. Where may I get one?
Thanks,
B

The templates do not show up unless you have installed the Integration
Services and workstation components. When you run setup, on the Components to
Install screen, select the two checkboxes for Integration Services and
Workstation components. You may want to click on the Advanced button and
select Documentation and Samples too.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. This helps. May I add this after the fact? I have installed
everything else. Don't want to undo what I already have set up. Some dbs
and data are already on the box.

Thanks,
B

Yes, you can modify your existing installation without removing what you have
already installed.
