Default SSIS difference in 2005 Standard/Enterprise Editions - 05-11-2006 , 11:55 AM

I was playing with SSIS on our standard edition 2005 server, and noticed a
lot of stuff wasn't supported. For instance, the auditing and data
conversion transformations couldn't run, as well as custom coded
transformations. I was wondering if there is an exact list of what SSIS
features are available in what editions. Looking at
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinf...-features.mspx doesn't
have the detail I need.

Thanks,

Colin

Hi Colin,

Thank you for your post.

SSIS Standard edition support audit transformation. The feature supported
by the different edition of SQL 2005 is listed on this webpage:

Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server 2005
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...1(SQL.90).aspx

If you could not run the task, would you please provide the error message
you got?

Sincerely,

hmmm, interesting - I am able to perform the tasks now. I didn't have SP1
on my machine but I had previously installed it on the server. I was able
to run the tasks from my machine in Visual Studio, but when put up to the
server and executed them I would get a "Product level not supported for Data
Conversion Task" or something to that effect. Now that I have SP1 on my
client, I can put them up to the server and execute them fine. That doesn't
make sense to me, but that's the only thing that has changed on the
environments in the last couple days.

Anyways, all is good and thank you very much for the link.
