Hi to everybody. I'm a newbie who imports its .xml files though the XML Bulk Load COM Object in SQL Server 2000 and after some DTS processing, they are exported to .txt files. My company is thinking about buying a SQL Server 2005 license. However, I'd like to know whether it's an option to take into consideration or SQL Server 2000 it's just enough. Which improvements have been made into XML file loading and DTS processing? Will be there now some other option to load the XML data apart from this XMLBulkLoad? Will it be possible to load the xml files in a completely graphical way? (I've read SQL Server supports XML data natively, but I don't know whether this answers the previous question or not) Thanks in advance to whoever answers me. David Grant |

-----Original Message----- You cannot buy SQL 2005 yet. If you buy SQL 2000 with SA then of course this will allow you to upgrade at no cost for the duration of your SA period. To really find out what you get in SQL 2005 Integration Services I suggest you try the beta, and in particular the Xml Source. This is currently available to MSDN subscribers, I don't think it is available for public download yet. The engine also has enhanced support for XML, including an XML type and manipulation features. This is not IS, so not really a loading feature. IS is not an end-user graphical tool, so it may still not be what you want, but obviously the designer itself is graphical. Hope this is a start.
