We are currently planing on migrating from SQL server 2000 to SQL Server 2008. I have read that DTS packages will work in SQL Server 2005 but I can not find anywhere if they will work in 2008? Or do we have to convert all of our DTS to SSIS? I have also read there is a tool - Microsoft SQL server DTS Designer components that allows the user to edit and create new DTS packages in SQL server 2005. If DTS can run in SQL Server 2008, is there a similar tool that can be used to edit/add DTS packages in SQL Server 2008? Is there any reading material out there for this scenario (SS 2000 to SS 2008 DTS to SSIS). What is the suggested approach? Thanks Tsharp |
