Default Source Column name truncation from Oracle Rdb (ODBC) database sour - 03-04-2005 , 03:43 PM

Somewhat newbie here.
We have an Oracle Rdb (used to be DEC) database that I'm trying to do a
simple DTS Copy Table function against. For some reason, table columns whose
names are longer than 29 characters are being truncated. Rdb Engineering
claims that it's not their problem and I have to believe since using the same
ODBC connection into MS Access doesn't get the truncation problem.

No amount of editing the DTS package characteristics seems to change the
truncation - I still keep getting it. I have a reproducer but I thought I'd
post it here before sending it into Microsoft.

Details: SQL Server 2000
Oracle Rdb ODBC Driver V3.01.00.02

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I will provide any additional
feedback as requested.
