Default SETUSER Permission Denied - 01-05-2005 , 04:32 PM

Hello,

I am trying to use DTS to move an SQL Server database, from one server (A)
where I have sa access, to another server (B) using the DTS wizard. I have
db_owner access to the database in B I am transferring data and objects to.

I am able to successfully perform the operation between two server where I
have both "sa" access. In this case (A) and (local).

However, when attempting the same operation to transfer the database form
(A) to (B) I get SETUSER Permission Denied.

(a) I have taken care to ensure that user(s) are the same on both sides.
(b) I have tried the option of not importing the users and permissions.

Also I have noted that while the tables owner is DBO, the default owner is
"my account name".

Can somebody shed some light on the matter?

Thanks,

Jay

Hi Jay,
I'm not an expert but I never use sa user. What I do is to set a user for
fire dts (dtsUser).
If you have active directory talk with you system admin. If you dont set the
same user in both servers with the same pwd and no problems.
I hope this help...Rgds
