Default Script Engine will not/cannot initialize error - 10-08-2003 , 12:52 PM

I am trying to run a string DateTime trasformation task in a package.
the source is from a *.dbf file using the Date, 8 data type.
I set the mm/dd/yyyy for source and the std sql server yyyy-mm-dd settings
in the dialog.

I try to test the transformation, and get the following error message:
"Not able to initialize the script execution engine"

I think the error has to do with the computer I am trying to run this on.
Also if I try to use a function (in vbscript) to test and alter the date, I
get the same error.

I am trying to transform data from an advantage database that is using
FoxPro table
defintions (*.dbf, *.cdx). I am using Version 6.0 for the Advantage
database, and
the ODBC Advantage driver. I can preview the data, but so far, not able to
transfrom
the data fields (about 10 date fields) . The copy col picks smalldatetime,
but even
without using any "custom" transformation, it fails. Seems to not like
smalldatetime,
Any info here? Allan gave me the "hint" for ODBC, thanks for that!!!
eric
