Default resubmit: DTS class not registered error... - 11-01-2004 , 12:13 PM

Whenever I try to use the DTS wizard, if I do something
like the following:

Right click
Select All Tasks
Import or Export
Click next

I never get beyond that... the "class not registered
error comes up (parse display named failed). The same
problem in the designer.

Please advise if you have any thoughts.

Thanks,

Rick

Sounds like something stamped on DTS

Could you try reregistering the DLLs?

Redistributing DTS with your program

Allan,

Thanks for your reply! I tried to reregister the DLLs
per your suggestion, but that still didn't work. One
thing that I realized yesterday that might be of help:

SQL Server 7.0 was installed by mistake on this machine
(a bank tech was configuring the machine, and downloaded
SQL 7 by mistake). We uninstalled it and put SQL 2000
on, and I didn't have any problems, so I just forgot
about the 7.0 install.

I have tried to uninstall 2000 and delete the registry
keys, but that didn't work either. Is there something
with 7.0 that could be causing this problem? It just
seems like too big of a coincidence, because I've not had
a single problem with DTS on 4 other machines.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Rick
