Hi all Since going to SP4 on windows 2000 server and loading the latest Hot Fix SQL2000 KB815495 I've been unable to succesfully run any agent job that calls a dts package using the operating system command. The error message that I receive is 'Executed as user: BTG018472-SQL\SYSTEM. The process could not be created for step 1 of job 0x126E20290843014188D882C8FF0B5EAD (reason: The system cannot find the file specified). The step failed.' The command works from the command prompt, so I know the file exists and is in the correct location. I've also run it as a file from the command prompt succesafully but it will not run from the agent. I've also scheduled a job from within DTS and then tried running it from the Agent with exactll the same failure. Can anybody suggest why these jobs would stop working, is it a security problem |

Thanks for that but this is a single installation running SQL2000 with the agent directly on the server not through a client. We've never had SQL7 so I don't think that there is a compatability problem. None of the DTS packages have any password. -----Original Message----- This could be an issue like this Service Pack and Version Compatibility Problems http://www.sqldts.com/default.aspx?6,222,223,0,1 -- ---------------------------- Allan Mitchell (Microsoft SQL Server MVP) MCSE,MCDBA www.SQLDTS.com I support PASS - the definitive, global community for SQL Server professionals - http://www.sqlpass.org "Paul" <paul.garrad (AT) bt (DOT) com> wrote in message news:049b01c35fe6$803af490$a601280a (AT) phx (DOT) gbl...
