Pete,

I have been encountering this exact problem too but I think I found the
fix for it though. If you are using a DSN for the IBM Client Access
driver, go into the properties for the DSN and click on the Performance
tab. Click the Advanced button and check the "Retrieve extended column
information" checkbox. You may also need to check "Open all cursors as
updateable". These settings continue to work OK for me.
