I want to use DTS to source data from various targets (Oracle, Ingres, Access, Flat Files) to build a staging area in SQL Server. Some of the data needs to be transferred/shared with a different Oracle database, though.

Can DTS write data directly to Oracle or would I have to export/dump the data and load it on the Oracle side with sql loader?

Thanks!

The choice is yours. Yes DTS can, providing you have the drivers, talk to Oracle. If you have ODBC drivers to it then the chances are DTS will talk to it.
