OK
The status says Failed so something went wrong.
What does the job log say?
You say you have discounted http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=269074
Do you have logging set in the package?
If not do so now and have it log to text file.
The fact that the job failed proves that it actually executes.

Here is the scenario:
I am trying to schedule a job that should be performed every day at
certain time. But only time it works is when I do it manually.
Under the SQL Server Agent > Jobs , the job status is shown NOT RUNNING
and in Last Run Status it shows Failed (7/23/2004).
I even checked in control panel > admin. tools > services that agent is
running and set it to automatic as well. I even read the article at

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=269074 and this doesn't work either. Any
one has any idea why scheduling is failing.???
