This is the wrong group for this issue.
However, I have seen this issue on machines on our network with the HP
printer driver.
Essentially what it is trying to do is either:
a) The remote machine is trying to access your machine by instantiating a
DCOM object (the one you mentioned) and it doesn't have sufficient security.
b) Your machine is trying to instantiate the DCOM object on the remote
computer, and it either doesn't have security permissions - or, because it's
gone, it's erroring out.
If you share this printer, or connect to this printer you may receive this
error.
The way I resolved it was modifying the dcomcnfg settings and modified the
permissions for the stupid DCOM object. I think it is a bug in HP's driver
software that makes this happen for network sharing because they assume
everyone in the world will be a local admin.

I've seen this posted several times, but none of the solutions offered has
worked for me.

I found the CLSID in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. Under the LocalServer32 it
references a program (HPBPRO.EXE) not a .dll. It appears to be "HP Port
|
Resolver". I do have several HP printers set up in my network both as
networked printers and shared printers. The computer that is giving me the
problem has an HP printer shared.

Here's the most puzzling aspect: The computer referenced in the message
is not listed in my computers on the domain. It was, but I removed it while
|
trying to fix the problem. I thought that if I removed the computer from
the domain the problem would go away. It continues even when the computer
is not even physically connected to the network. I unplugged the computer,
and removed it from the 2000Server Active Directory, but it still shows up
in the System event log every 30 seconds.
