If you import the contents of the XL file into a table that has a
column defined with the newid() function, SQL Server will generate a
new guid value for you. See the NEWID topic in SQL Server Books Online
for more information.

I have used DTS a couple of time to take a SQL table and export it to an
Access File. Now I want to take an Excel file and import it into my SQL
table. This SQL table is keyed by a GUID and to my knowledge there is no way
to easily generate these in Excel.
So being pretty novice at the DTS process, how can I import an Excell file
into a SQL table and at the same time generate the GUID? I presume DTS is
the place to do this at.. |
