I want to use DTS for data mining. However, I am just a beginner of this tool. I am not sure whether DTS can help me to
stabilize variance, remove nonlinearity, improve additivity, correct nonnormality and transform an interval variable (for example, age) into a group variable. If DTS can do so, then how to do? Can somebody help me

I found that many people use ActiveX script to manipulate DTS in the newsgroup, so do I have to learn some programming language (for example, Java Script, VB and XML) for using DTS? Does DTS have an interface to let user choose the options instead of writing programming lanuage

See you found the DTS-newsgroup.

I'm not a data mining expert (more datawarehouse / olap) but you cannot say
that you can use DTS for data mining - you can say that you can use DTS for
preparing an SQL Relational environment that can be used for data mining
(perhaps using Analysis Services...)

Whether AS data mining facilities are enough to support your requirements I
don't know.

DTS is primarily used for doing something using SQL (and other task types)
so the data can be used in a mining model - but the mining model needs to be
defined in AS - at least I think so....related to cleansing data using DTS
there is no limits to what can be done but you need to know what relational
structure is needed for youre requirements.
