Default Properties dialog on Transform Data Task from Oracle hangs - 12-20-2004 , 05:50 AM

Hi!

Whenever I create a transform data task which transforms data to and/or from
an Oracle database, it takes a very long time for the properties dialog to
appear when I right-click and select properties on the task - ranging from
15 to 40 minutes. Any ideas what this could be? It naturally makes
developing DTS packages for Oracle databases a big hassle... I use the
native Oracle ODBC driver.

Hi,
While working with Oracle databases I use the Oracle Provider for OLE DB.
It works without any problems and the transformations processes are very
fast.
I suggest You not to use ODBC driver to connect with Oracle database.
Rgds,
Kornel.
