Default Programatically schedule a DTS package - 02-16-2005 , 09:40 AM

I would like to provide our users a form inside our program to schedule a
DTS package. I.e. I am looking for an activeX or other API to the SQL server
agent.
I cannot find any documentation.

Help!

You can use the system stored procedures sp_add_job and sp_job_schedule to
create a SQL server Agent job and schedule it.

You can use SQL-DMO to create jobs. You can find information
in books online on the Job and JobServer objects. You can
find an example at:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en..._ex02_69yr.asp
and the schedule example at:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en..._ex02_1q0j.asp

There are also SQL Server stored procedures that allow you
to add jobs. A DTS job can be run using a CmdExec step and
dtsrun. To add the job, you use sp_add_job. To add the job
step, you use sp_add_jobstep. To add the schedule for the
job, you use sp_add_jobschedule.
