Default Problems with Excel data pump - 10-07-2005 , 08:24 AM

I have a DTS pacakge and am creating an excel file using an activeX task.
That piece works fine. I am then using a number of data pump tasks to move
the results of queries into the excel file. The data is moving into the file
just fine, but it is not starting where I would expect it to. The data
starts on line 15 some places or on line 4 other places. I have headers on
line 1 so I want the data to start on line 2. Is there some setting I am
missing? I have never had issues like this before. Any help is appreciated.

Have the Excel speadsheets had data in them before that you deleted?

I thought the same thing as well, but I am creating the spreadsheet and then
importing data. It is odd. Say the first data pump imports 3 rows into
column A. The next data pump will insert 3 rows as well and instead of
starting at row 1 it starts at row 4. Then if the next data pump inserts 3
rows it will start at row 8. So instead of going back to row 1 it starts at
the row where the previosu data pump left off.
