Default Problem : SQLserver and MSAS on 2 diffferent servers - 12-14-2005 , 06:25 PM

Client doesn't want to install AnalysisServices on same server as SQL 2000...
Why ??

Problem now is how to automate processing of cubes.

Normally I add a "Analysis Services Processing Task" as last step in my
DTS-jobs on the SQLserver.

Since MSAS is not installed on the SQLserver I cant find this task in DTS !
And on the server with MSAS there is no SQLserver.....

Any ideas how this can be solved ????

Install the AS tools on the SQL Server. This includes the processing
task, but since it is tools only, it will not install the engine. You
can do the same on a workstation, to allow remote management (and
processing) of AS.
