Default parameterize query in SSIS package - SQL 2005 - 07-16-2008 , 11:00 AM

Hi All,

I have created a query to run in a .dtsx package.
I would like to parameterize it so that a user can input a value via the
Execute Utility dialog when the .dtsx package is double-clicked.

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Gloria

Hello Goria:

Is this an Execute SQL Task on the control flow?

If so, you can parameterize it as follows:
Create a Variable that will hold the value of the parameter.
In the SQLStatement, enter your PROC "EXEC <My Proc> ?
Then in the Parameter Mapping page, click Add and find your variable listed
as User::<My Variable>. Set the Direction to Input, choose an appropriate
Data Type, and set the Parameter Name to "0" (If you have more than one, the
2nd one will be named "1", etc).

Now in the DTExecUI utility, use the Set Values page to supply a value for
the parameter variable.
