I have a DTS package which actually has only 2 execute package tasks. Both
tasks, if run individually runs very fast (20 second max), but when I run the
entire package it goes for a toss, keeps on running and doesn't stop even
after 30 minutes.
I am using sql 2000 ent edition with win 2003 server sp1.
Any clue why this is happening?

Make sure the packages you are executing are set to execute
on the main thread - on the workflow for the Execute Package
Tasks, go to the options tab and select Execute on main
package thread.
