Hello,
I want to copy data of one table from source database to
destination database (product upgrade, new table
definition extended).

When I use DTS, I get "Unspecified error" and some other
random errors.

The most srange is Exception Log, ie.:

Error at Destination for Row number 1914. Errors
encountered so far in this task: 67.

The table contains some ntext fields, but none of them
contains such a string like "This program cannot be run in
DOS mode." or "crosoft Data Transformation Se". They
should be empty or with some meaningful text in Czech.

I have SQL2000 SP3a Dev.Ed.

Is this a known/unknown DTS BUG?
Is any patch available?

From your descriptions, I understood that you encounter "Unspecified error"
when using DTS.

To find out the root cause of this issue we may need to analyze memory
dumps, this work has to be done by contacting Microsoft Product Support
Services. Therefore, we probably will not be able to resolve the issue
through the newsgroups. If the issue is urgent, I recommend that you open a
Support incident with Microsoft Product Support Services so that a
dedicated Support Professional can assist with this case. If you need any

I need detailed information trying reproduce them on my machine. Would you
please so kind as to describe the scenario you are doing? Could you show me
your log file? You could attach it in the post or send it to me directly
v-mingqc (AT) online (DOT) microsoft.com (please remove "online" as it is used for
SPAM). Could you make a samle DTS package sample, with which, I could
reporduce it on my machine?
