What could possibly be wrong with this statement?
MsgBox(Dts.Variables("User::sDesertIslandFile").Va lue.ToString)

Try this:

MsgBox(CStr(Dts.Variables("VariableName").Value))

No guarantees because I have never tried MsgBox function inside a scritp,
but I do know the Cstr( ) for Dts.Variables works.
