Default MS DTC and FIPS-140-2 compliance - 04-16-2009 , 10:55 AM

Hello -

I am planning on using MS DTC for managing distributed transactions between
two SQL Server databases. The organization that hosts one of the databases
has stated that I cannot use MS DTC unless it is FIPS-140-2 compliant. I'm
not even sure FIPS compliance applies to MS DTC since it is only managing
transactions between databases and (I'm guessing) does not actually transmit
data itself - but I have to ask the question. :-) Do you know if MS DTC is
FIPS-140-2 compliant or could you point me to the right place to research the
question further?

Thank you so much!
