Default Moving DTS Packages - 12-08-2005 , 04:39 PM

I have DTS packages on one server and i wanted to move these to some other
server , how can i do this? is there any way to generate the SQL Script so
that we can run these Scripts on the targeted machine? or do we need to
manually create these packages on the other server?

Hi,

You can save the package to file and then open it on other server.
Then you can save it to SQL Server on this other server.

How to open a DTS package saved to a structured storage file (Enterprise
Manager)
To open a DTS package saved to a structured storage file

In the SQL Server Enterprise Manager console tree, right-click Data
Transformation Services, and then click Open Package.

In the Select File dialog box, click the .dts file you want, and then click
Open.

If multiple Data Transformation Services (DTS) packages or package versions
were saved, the Select Package dialog box appears. Click the package or
package version you want to open.
