Default MMC.EXE chokes the CPU and DTS designer goes to sleep - 04-18-2006 , 02:44 AM

Hello,

I have been doing similar data importing related tasks (with the same
settings, source, and destination) in the past but never experienced
this problem till now

Whenever I try to do edit the data pump (in the DTS designer), my PC
goes to sleep and comes back after a long time. This sleep time gets
multiplied by 100 especially I press on the transformation tab...

While trying anything and everything, I have concluded that everytime
the problem happens the MMC.EXE process is choking the CPU...

The following information may be of use:
- My source is a MS-SQL server on the LAN while the destination is MSDE
SP3 on my box
- The source is a MS-SQL server (with SP3) on the LAN
- The destination is MSDE SP3 on my box

Can someone please help me out of this.
