Default Meta Data Service Packages - 06-14-2004 , 02:48 PM

Hi,

I am trying to save a DTS package to the Meta Data repository, but it is not
listed in the location drop down in the DTS Save As dialog. Any reason the
meta data services repository would not be listed as a save location? I am
trying to learn more about meta data in the enterprise.

Thanks,
Mike

It was removed as a default save location in SP3

Right click on the Data Tramsformation Services Folder | Properties

You will see the option there to reenable.

Hi,

Thanks for your response, it worked. Any good links to learn more about the
uses of meta data?

Thanks,
Mike

To tell you the truth I do not know anybody using this feature period. MS
obviously had a reason to turn it off by default. Packages were slow to
open also.
